Delivering ISO 55001 certified asset management

TEAM2100 is a £308m programme to deliver the first 10 years of the TE2100 Plan through an Integrated Delivery Team (IDT) comprising of the Environment Agency, CH2M and strategic partners. To demonstrate TEAM2100 would deliver value for money up to 2100 and beyond, the Full Business Case required it to achieve ISO55001 certification within 2 years. This presentation will describe the journey from organisational creation to ISO55001 certification and, in doing so, becoming the first government major programme and FCERM organisation to achieve certification. It will provide an overview of the approach taken to identify the improvements required to existing management systems and how organisational change was delivered through the IDT delivery model.Having set the context, the presentation will then provide an overview the asset management (AM) system developed, how it provides clear line of sight to both the Environment Agencies organisational requirements and those of the TE2100 Strategy and the key documents within the system including the AM Principles, Strategy and Plans and monitoring processes. Finally the presentation will consider the benefits of achieving ISO55001 early on and how this can actively help an organisation continue to improve and deliver a best practice AM approach.
